02 Newsletter data
If you subscribe to the newsletter we store only:
- your email address;
- the language of the page you subscribe from (Italian or English);
- the date and time of your subscription;
- the version of the consent text you accepted (the current one is v1-2026-09-28);
- the address of the page you subscribed from;
- a cryptographic fingerprint of your IP address.
The date, time and text version are the proof of your consent.
We do not store your IP address: the fingerprint is a code derived from it with a secret key, and we use it only against abuse, so that we accept no more than 8 sign-up attempts an hour from the same connection.
The data stay on our server, in an archive that cannot be reached from the web. If you subscribe again with the same address, we do not create a second subscription.
03 No emails for now
For now we only collect subscriptions: we do not send any email, not even a confirmation. Before we start sending, we will update this notice.
05 Purposes and legal bases
- Newsletter: to send you the AFG newsletter once it starts. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Security: to protect the website and the sign-up form from abuse, using the IP fingerprint and browsing data. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Statistics: only if you accept them (section 8). Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Giving us your email address is optional: without it, we simply cannot sign you up.
06 How long we keep data
- Newsletter data, fingerprint included: until you withdraw your consent.
- Fingerprints used only to count sign-up attempts: one hour.
- Server logs: a few weeks.
07 Service providers
- Contabo GmbH (Germany): the server that runs the website and holds the subscription archive.
- Cloudflare: the delivery and security network through which the website's pages pass.
- Google, through Google Analytics 4: only if you accept statistics.
Cloudflare and Google may process some data outside the European Union as well, in particular in the United States.
08 Statistics and cookies
Only if you accept it in the cookie banner does the website use Google Analytics 4, a Google service that shows us, in aggregate form, how many people visit the pages and where they come from. Without your consent Google Analytics is not loaded and no statistics cookie is stored. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
The website does not use profiling cookies. Cloudflare may use technical cookies needed for security.
09 Film, fonts and social media
- The Calling for Peace film is served from our own server (media.afgaps.org), not from external video platforms.
- The fonts are hosted on our own server: the pages make no requests to Google Fonts or to other external font services.
- Instagram and Facebook are plain links: there are no social buttons, widgets or pixels on the pages, so those platforms receive none of your data unless you open them.
- The articles in the press section link to the outlets' own websites, which have their own privacy notices.
10 Your rights
At any time you can ask us to access your data, to correct or erase it, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a machine-readable format and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Articles 15–22 GDPR). We do not take decisions based solely on automated processing.
You can withdraw your consent whenever you like: withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before it.
To exercise your rights, write to contact@afgaps.org.
If you believe the processing breaches the GDPR, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or with the supervisory authority of the EU country where you live or work.
